From The Page (October, 1988):
Eskalya will host their Baroness' Birthday "Spring In October" Revel and Tourney on October 15 at the Viking Hall in Anchorage, Alaska. You are invited to corne celebrate the birthday of our Baroness in a joyful springtime revel. The site will open at noon and the festivities will be going on all day. The tourney will be a round robin with drawn weapons. Entry fee for the tourney will be a butterfly in any mode and will be presented at opening court, the tourney to begin immediately afterward. For those with children, Dragon's Nest will be available for a short time during the tourney. There will be a maypole (or should I say an October pole) later in the day as well as a Quiet Quest. After feast there will be a masked ball and hopefully a bardic. The contests include masks (butterflies of nature or fantasy), Dance (Road to Kilburn), table setting (Theme is Rites of Spring), and costume (best winter garb made with spring colors). Munchies will be provided throughout the day, as well as the four-remove feast in the evening. Site fees are as follows: In advance: Adults $10, Child (6-12) $5, Toddler (3-5) $2, under 3 free. At the door: Adults $15, Child (6-12) $8, Toddler (3-5) $4, under 3 free. Advanced reservations can be made until 8 pm, October 14.
