From The Page (April, 1988):
The College of St. Katherine will hold its annual Warlord Tourney on April 9. The winner will cover him or herself in glory and also be acclaimed the Warlord of St. Kate -- an office that enables him or her to lead the lemming hardes of students in battle. The tourney will be held in Tilden Park, in the scenic Berkeley hills. It will be on the Model Airplane field, behind the Meadows playfield. There are picnic areas and barbecue pits nearby, but be aware that the park closes at 10:30 pm. Parents with smalls (or trysting lords and ladies) should be aware that poison oak abounds in Tilden. The site will open at 9 am or whenever the seneschal wakes up. Armor inspection is at 11 am. For more information, or gory details, call Wiglaf Wilfredson (contact info omitted) or Edward Oakenhead (contact info omitted). DIRECTIONS: (omitted).
