From The Page (August, 1987):
Shortly after their Majesties granted official recognition to the newly formed Shire of Mont d'Or, it was discovered that the College of St. Katherine had unofficially been granted these same lands by a previous Queen. Naturally St. Katherine's demanded taxes! Naturally Mont d'Or refused to pay! Naturally this leads to war!
Planned activities include: Heavy, Light and Mixed battles; a Siege Cooking Contest (make a dish with ingredients that would still be usable in a castle that had been besieged for a month); a Children's Spiderweb Quest; and a Saturday eve potluck feast for all. Booty for mercenaries, constables, marshals, and water bearers includes Gatorade, Adam's ale (water), apple juice, and chocolate chip cookies. Minors must have a signed minor waiver, and the usual Kingdom rules for wars and safety will be in force.
The site has both shaded and open camping, a (possibly dry) lake, non-flush privies, and outdoor cold showers and water faucets. You can use your entry tickets for hot showers at a campsite 5 miles down the road. Pets must be leashed and accompanied at all times. Fee is $3 per person for 1 night, $5 for 2 nights, kids under 6 free.
Autocrat: Alyanora of Vinca (contact info omitted).
