From The Page (June, 1987):
We, the Shire of Solais Mor, wish to heartily thank those brave few who ventured forth into the wind and rain to watch us cancel our Defender of the Pass tourney. We have rescheduled for June 13.
The site will be Almond Avenue Park in Livermore. The site fee will be $2 per person. There will be no alcohol at this site so please don't let the parks people or the autocrats see you with any and remove your empty bottles and cans. There are several (21) picnic tables available as well as barbecue areas (8) and an covered area and trees for shade.
This tourney will be run as a combination of a meatgrinder/mad dog list. Due to the nature of this list the lists will not close. The prize for the Defender of the Pass will be stainless vambraces with brass finishings by Lord Oen Trevelyan. ThHe prize for the Mad Dog will be a six pack of Watney's as well as our own brewing guild's infamous Heimbender Dark.
The revel will be held at teh Recreation Center on the corner of ... in Livermore. Directions will be given at the tourney. The site is a WET site. The hall closes at midnight including cleanup time.
For the pleasure of the Princess there will be Byzantine Murder Madness at the tourney and the revel. Details to be figured out later.
The autocrats are: Angharad O'Duibhdabhoireann (contact info omitted) and Gunval of Skogen (contact info omitted).
