From The Page (January, 1988):
Join the Province of Southern Shores on February 27 for a pilgrimage to the Hearst Castle at San Simeon. See the wondrous medieval art treasures collected by William Randolph Hearst. We would like to go in garb (weather permitting), so bring an "easy to change into" costume. Large or trailing skirts wiould not be advisable due to the bus ride up the mountain and the many stairs on the tours. Bring umbrellas.
We will assemble and leave from the McDonald's on McKee Road just off I-680 in San Jose. Departure time is 7am. The trip takes about 3 1/2 hours from San Jose. There are up to 4 different tours. Each tour costs $8 per person. Bring a lunch and we will eat together at the picnic area (again, weather permitting).
Please call Lady Siobhan of Cloverdell (phone) or Ian MacAngus (phone) if you plan to go, and if you have space available for riders.
