Harvest Festival -- Southern Shores

Oyez, Oyez, Good Gentles of the Knowne World: all ye good gentles who are currently, or have ever been, a member of the Province of Southern Shores, as well, all who have ever attended a Province Gather or other Southern Shores event, likewise, any and all who would LIKE to attend: know that the Province of Southern Shores will gather on October 17 to celebrate this year's harvest where we will share a meal (potluck dinner) and stories of the Province. (This is a homecoming, reunion, a bonafide meeting of Southern Shores alumni!)

Games and contests are planned, including The Southern Shores Trivia Game, as well as some surprises. So, mark your calendar now and make plans for the pilgrimage back to the Province. A Call to All Good Gentles of the Knowne World!! Join the Province of Southern Shores at its Annual Harvest Fest and First-Time Ever Homecoming Celebration (yes, folks, this is a reunion of Southern Shores Alumni) to be held Saturday, October 17 at Cardoza Park in Milpitas! ALL (province alumni as well as every other SCA'er interested in having a good time) are invited to spend the day participating in many games (such as Jeu de Ball Contest of the Knowne World, and the Southern Shores Trivia Game, to name a few). As well, children's activities are planned and there is a "swings and slide" area at the park for smalls.

A pot-luck revel will be held in the evening at the Milpitas Youth center on Able Ave. Try your hand at creating a subtlety representing the Province for the Cooking Competition. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes, too. (Your pot-luck dish to feed 6-8 to share, and your feast gear and banners, will add to the medieval ambiance!)

Just a few days remain to gather your gear and prepare for the Province of Southern Shores Annual Harvest Fest and First-Time Ever Homecoming Celebration! The reunion of Southern Shores alumni will be held Saturday October 17 at Cardoza Park, Milpitas, with a potluck revel at the Milpitas Youth Center that evening. The site will oepn at 10am,; the revel will begin at 5:30 pm. An auction will be held to benefit the provincial newsletter, THE GULL, will be held, as well as many competitions and games:

The Jeu de Ball Championship of the Knowne World, Best Heraldic Display (any media), Design a Badge for teh Populace, Period Lantern Contest, Herbal Poultice Contest (exterior healing compact for fighters), Hat the Herald, Pumpkin Anything, The Southern Shores Trivia Game, Best Display at Feast Table, and for teh Smalls, Pin the Tail on the Dragon and Hook the Castle Treasure (a fishing game). There are playground areas at the park for children.

Bring a potluck dish to share (to serve 6-8) at the revel, your dancing shoes, and your competition entries. ALL (province alumni and anyone else interested in having a good time) are invited and will be welcomed. Make the pilgrimage back to the Province. Site fee is $3.
