Twenty-second Year

Championship Tourney -- Golden Rivers

May 16, 1987 (AS XXII)

From The Page (April, 1987):

On Saturday, May 9, the Province of Golden Rivers will host its annual Championship Tourney for all resident fighters. The site will be Mission-North Park in Carmichael. Commotions will begin at approximately 11 a.m. and will continue until dusk, when we will adjourn for general indoor revelry at another location, to be announced. This is a dry site -- no alcoholic beverages. The park is shady, grassy and comfortable but it includes a small creek and some unfriendly terrain, so keep watch on your children. No site fee will be charged.

The purpose of the Championship Tourney is to determine, by standard double elimination combat, our provincial champion for A.S. XXII. Participants must be authorized fighters residing or having a legal address within the Province of Golden Rivers, and each must represent a consort or companion of the opposite gender. The victor and consort will receive circlets and cloaks, with other accolades throughout the year, and will be our honored guests at the Provincial Anniversary Banquet in November. Combatants and potential consorts should agree to try to attend the banquet, as well as next year's Championship Tourney, so we can fuss over them and bask in their glow.
