From The Page (January, 1988):
On Saturday, February 6, Borderwinds will honor its Protector and his Lady of Love and Beauty at our Court of Love (and Mini-Tournament). The Mini-Tournament will begin with sign-ups at 11am and fighting starting at noon. The COURT OF LOVE will begin promptly at 6pm with a procession led by the Protector and his Lady. The site of both Mini-Tournament and COURT OF LOVE is the Minami Center in Santa Maria. There will be showers available, so please bring your best clothes for the feast following the fighting. Contests will be announced onsite.
A special "auction" will be held in fun, and a certain amount of "coin" will be provided. Should you wish to purchase more, there will be packets on sale for .50 each. Betting in fun will be encouraged during the evening.
The feast will consist of "Kill 'em dead" Fighter's Stew (2 kinds), bread, and apple and cherry tarts. Please bring your own drink and bowls (sorry, this is a dry hall this year). Please have your reservations in by 1/21/88.
For more information, please contact Susan of Winterood (contact info omitted).
