From The Page (April, 1987):
Kelly's Camp in Lake County will be the site for Beltane. The address is (omitted). The site will open at noon on Friday and will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The site fee is $4 per person, including children.
This site has four hot showers and potable water. There are a number of fixed barbeques available. There is a creek as well as a man-made swimming hole. There is a small store on the site. Merchants are okay, but check with the autocrats for information on county regulations.
No open fires will be allowed except for the bardic circle. Hibachies and stoves must be kept off the ground. Dogs are not particularly welcome, but you must bring them, they must remain leashed at all times. Anyone who wishes to bring an RV or any other very large vehicle must contact the autocrat as soon as possible because special permission must be obtained to bring them on site.
Parents take heed -- the site is bounded on one side by Scotts Valley Road, and by the creek on the other. The swimming hole is 12 feet deep at one end.
The competitions for the Arts and Sciences Championship will begin at this event with: instrumental performance; vocal performance; jesting; food preservation; and non-woven fabric.
The Page's alcoholic beverage competition will also be held at this event. Bring your homemade wine, beer, mead, cordial, etc. Also, bring your money, the judgeships will be auctioned off.
The Westermark Inn will be serving dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning, at modest prices. (On second thought, it might be Saturday night breakfast and Sunday morning dinner.)
For more information, call the autocrats, Edwinna of Hawk's Bluff (contact info omitted) or Aldric Haldane of Griswold (contact info omitted).
