Yes, it is early, but some people plan ahead --- Oerthan Winter Coronet/Investiture will be on January 17 and 18. The theme will be Italian Renaissance. The autocrat is Morgana n'ha Keridwen (contact info omitted).

Their Highnesses, Klyson and Anne, Prince and Princess of Oertha, do invite one and all to celebrate the season with Them at Oertha's Midwinter Coronet Tourney and Investiture in the northernmost portion of Their realm in Winter's Gate on January 17 and 18.
There will be many contests run at this event: Most original method for keeping warm at 55° below zero (yes, Kylson thought of that one); Costume -- Renaissance garb in blue, black, white or gold, or any combination; Masks in any mode; Dance -- Manschaft, best couple determined by knowledge of the dance, poise, flirtation and having the most fun; Costume embellishment; Punches -- alcoholic and non-alcoholic; Authentic cooking -- filled cookies; and Sweet loaf breads. There will also be a workshop on marionettes.
The theme for the event is Renaissance Italy. Reservations are $12 and go up to $15 on December 1. Send reservations to the autocrat, Morgana n'ha Keridwen (contact info omitted) or leave a message with Targon de Montfort (contact info omitted).
