From The Page (July, 1986):
The Lord Defender Tourney for the Far West Protectorate will occur July 4, 5 and 6 in the Ile of blue Mists. All authorized fighters who have been in the Far West for four months and have proof of membership are encouraged to assemble and compete for the title of Lord Defender. Competition will be by standard double elimination and each fighter must have a consort. The Lord Defender and Consort will only bear those titles for a season, but will receive official capes, circlets to wear and will be given tickets to the Feast of the Divine Wind. Of course, they will be much fawned upon by the populous of the Far West.
The Lord Defender and Consort must agree to attend the feast, if at all possible, and remain visible at the protectorate's activities during the season. They will be our ralleying point.
Activities will begin at noon with arts sciences displays, dancing, games and a late pot luck. Armor inspection will be at 1500, the lists will close at 1630 and the rounds begin at 1700. The location of the Tourney will be at the Torii Beach Camp site (typhon site has not been determined). The autocrat is Shoa Hou (contact info omitted). Visitors are encouraged to contact the autocrat for crash space and a tour of Okinawa.
