From The Page (September, 1986):
Old scribes; new scribes; potential scribes; and friends of scribes -- Please notice that the date for teh scriptorium has been changed. So that the Kingdom's artists can attend both the bardic competition and the scriptorium, the latter has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 20 in the Shire of Esfenn at the Southgate Community Center (address omitted). The site opens at 10 a.m. and the first class will start promptly at 10:30.
We hope that this will be the first of many new seminars sponsored by the College of Scribes for the Kingdom. We have a fine list of instructors with several classes designed for the beginning or intermediate scribe. We especially encourage participants to bring your supplies and take advantage of the open workshops and round table discussions available in the afternoon. It is our intention that many of the learned calligraphers and illuminators of this Kingdom be present to demonstrate period hands, scroll layouts and painting techniques as well as answer questions. Source books and light tables will also be available.
At 1:45 p.m. there will be a one hour break for lunch. Bring a picnic basket and dine on the lawn.
A collection will be made to help defray the cost of the site. For more information, contact the autocrats: Siranna of Hawthorne Hall at (phone omitted) or Kathleen Allen at (phone omitted).
Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
