The Twenty-first Year

Ducal Prize Tournament

July 26-27, 1986 (AS XXI)

From The Page (May, 1986):

The annual Ducal Prize Tournament which benefits the Land Fund of the Kingdom will be held this year on July 26 and 27 at the Two Rocks Coast Guard Station near Wolfscairn. At this event, prize competitions are held and the entry fees charged to the competitors go to the Land Fund. We are currently looking for people to sponsor competitions at the tournament. To sponsor a competition you must provide for the prize, set up the rules and run the competiton at the tourney. In the past, there have been competitions in heraldry, needlework, sword and shield, dancing, pole arms lists, calligraphy, gurning, live chess, hide and seek in armor, singing, etc. Let your imagination go; invent something fun. This is a good time to get people involved in a skill that you think is neglected too. Please contact Their Majesties, James and Verena, as soon as possible wtih your ideas for Ducal Prize.

In the past, we have also held auctions of donated items at Ducal Prize. These are generally very effective fund raisers, so we'd like to do one this year, too. Please let us know if you have anything you can donate for the auction. Please send information on your competition, or on items you can donate for auction, to Helmsgaard in writing. The address is (omitted). Thank you.
