From The Page, July (1985):
Oertha's Midsummer Coronet/Investiture will be on July 13 and 14, in the Barony of Winter's Gate. More specifically, it will be at the Chena Lakes Recreation Area. The site fees are $10 in advance or $12 at the gate and $5 in advance for children or $6 at the gate. The schedule is as follows: (omitted).
Their Highnesses Kylson and Anne wish all to be aware that Their Royal Majesties Paul and Rowena will be attending this Midsummer Tourney. Their Majesties would like to emphasize Chivalry and Pageantry during Their reign. They would also appreciate being entertained, so please feel free to offer entertainment any time you wish to oblige them. The entertainment need not be elaborite or formal. Sitting in the Royal Pavilion and softly playing the guitar, for example, is certain to be looked on favorably.

"Memory is interesting. I was at this event, and remember bits and pieces of it, but don't have a lot of memories of the event.
"Among the things I can remember: Grün and Dierdrianna (who was visiting with Their Majesties as part of Their court) trying to reconstruct the Queen's Order of Grace ceremony, as no one had a copy with them, only to have the QOG go to Grün. (Loaning my QOG token for the ceremony, as Her Majesty didn't have any tokens with Her, either ...)
"Being told by Her Majesty that I would be making Her Cyphers. The conversation went something like:
Queen Rowena: "Did you make that Laurel Medallion?"
Me: "Yes, Your Majesty!"
Queen Rowena: "Good, I have a job for you."
I was a bit freaked about that -- my first set of Queen's Cyphers (which arrived stateside just in time to get to Purgatorio, when Her Majesty needed them ...).
"Otherwise, I honestly don't remember much that sticks in my fuzzy brain as being important about this event." -- Hirsch von Henford
