The Twentieth Year

Winetasting -- Caldarium

November 16, 1985 (AS XX)

From The Page (November, 1985):

Good Gentles take heed. The Province of Caldarium announces its annual winetasting on November 16.

This gala evening will feature choice wines from the Loire Valley in France. With tasty hors d'ouevres provided by the famous Caldarian chiefs (famous in Caldarium so far and looking to the known world). Two special features this year will be a comparison tasting with varietal grape juices and non-alchoholic wines (non-drinkers, pregnant women, and "charioteers" may find these a worthwhile option), as well as an auction of fun, interesting and even useful wine related goods--including wines. This was a great hit last year so bring plenty of negotiable stock.

We have chosen a centrally located site in the Principality of the Mists (in the Eastbay), the map to which shall be sent with each ticket.

The cost for this evening of fine wine and food is $7.50 per person, $14 per couple. We must recieve ticket requests by November 8. There are a limited number of tickets which will be sold firstcome first serve. There will be no tickets sold at the door. Starting time is 7:30 p.m. and crash space will be provided for overdoers, out of towners and people who hate to see the fun end. We respectfully request that smalls not attend as the site is inappropriate for children.

For information about the wine tasting please call the Autocrat, Aoibeann of Arran (contact info omitted) or the seneschal, Kathleen Treanor (contact info omitted).

Ticket requests, accompanied by the appropriate amount of legal tender, should be sent to the autocrat (contact info omitted).

Checks should be made out to "Province of Marin -- SCA."

Wear your medieval finery, bring your banners, as you join us for food, fun, frolic, and most of all wine.
