Illusion Feast -- Caer Darth

On November 16 the Shire of Caer Darth (Santa Cruz) will host a day of diverse entertainments beginning with a grand tournament in the tradition of Malory. Come display your prowess on the field and win honor and glory before the ladies of the Kingdom. The victorious champion and his lady will be proclaimed Lord and Lady of the Day and will be feted in grand style. Other activities will include melees, codpiece tossing contest (for ladies only), heraldry on garb contest and children'ds coloring contest. Fighting will begin at 11 a.m. at Graham Hill Road Showgrounds. Site fee is $1 per person. Merchants are welcome. Showers are available for fighters. Culminating the day's activities will be a Grand Feast of Illusion Foods in the manner of the late 14th century, replete with a hand washing ceremony, minstrelry, and dancing. The feast will be in five removes and will feature such delicacies as farced chicken, gilded pears, pomme doree, yrchoun and hippocras. Mead and lemonade will be provided. The site is wet. The feast will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Felton Community Hall in Felton. Please bring banners and covered candles. Crash space is available in the hall, bring sleeping bags. The hall must be cleaned up and everyone out by 6 a.m.

Tickets are $8 on board and $3 off board (includes bread, soup and lemonade) before November 16. Tickets will be $10 on board and $5 off board at the door. Children under 12 years are half price. Seating is limited to 60 on board and 40 off board, so reserve early. Servers and entertainers have their choice of half price on board or free off board.
