From The Page (May, 1984):
Lords and Ladies, all are invited! The beloved BARONY OF VINHOLD is pleased to announce the first annual BACCHANALIA celebration on Sunday, May 27, XIX. Bacchanalia is the celebration of Spring, wine, and theatre, and all three will be in abundance at this wondrous event. The day's festivities and fun will begin at 9 am (SCA time) with the Barony's Champion Tourney, which will include displays of participant's fighting, heraldic, dancing, gaming, artistic, and scientific skills. For non-participants of the tourney, both indoor and outdoor games will be organized. As the evening draws nigh, entertainment of all types will be in tow, including acrobatics, madrigals, story-telling, and the Not Ready for Peerage Players' production of "Bacchanalia". Dinner is potluck, and as this is a dry site, discretion is advised. Kitchen facilities are limited, so hot dishes may need a heating element to stay warm during the day. The site fee is a mere $2, so deck thyself in ivy and flowers, hop in thy chariot, and celebrate Spring as it should be celebrated!
This is the same site as the dance seminar and last year's Fall Coronet.
The event will be held in the third building on the right (the City of Napa Multi-Purpose Building).
AUTOCRAT: Vesta the Vaine (contact info omitted).
