From The Page (May, 1984):
In Spring a young man's thoughts turn to war ... er, the friends he has made over the years. Therefore do the Provinces of Silver Desert and Golden Rivers invite the populace to dally with them upon shady riverbanks in Grass Valley this 9th and 10th of June.
The days are to be filled with melees and at least one prize list for those martially inclined. Serious and silly games will be there for those of a less violent nature. The autocrat invites all to bring their favorite amusements to share. There will be competitions for best sweet, best insult, most "interesting" compliment, and quite possibly more. Sunday there will be a scavenger hunt and the inevitable bashing.
There is a $2 site fee to cover the cost of necessities. The area is a grassy riverbank with plenty of room to camp and enjoy. No dogs are allowed, and the site's owner warns that the river can be quite fast: those who bring children should be cautious.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the AUTOCRAT, Ceridwen MacAoudhegain (contact info omitted).
