No Name Tourney and Treasure Tryst -- Esfenn
June 9, 1984 (AS XIX)

From The Page (June, 1984):

Come and join the Shire of Esfenn in its first annual No Name Tourney and demo at Lake Elizabeth in the city of Fremont.

We plan to make this an annual event to spark community interest in the SCA. New people have fresh enthusiasm and can be the lifeblood of the Society.

The date is the 9th of June, with setup starting at 10 am. The first event of the day will be an open melee for the fighters starting at 11:30 am. Other events of the day will include a relay race, chess tournament, cooking contest (Breads -- please bring your recipe), and undoubtedly others, with PRIZES for all.

Fighters, the big event of the day is a Treasure Tryst for teams of 3-5 fighters. Be there and don't let that TREASURE slip through your fingers.

There will be workshops on armoring by Master Steven of Norham, a beginner's calligraphy class sponsored by the College of Scribes, how to be comfortable at your local tourney -- from Siranna's chest -- and others. If anyone is interested in giving instructions in a subject that might interest mundane folk (and of course us), call the Autocrat. All help will be greatly appreciated.

And, of course, everybody bring your DANCING shoes and join in the festivities. There will be dancing at intervals during the day.

Bring your pavilions as there will be plenty of room.

To get to the site, (directions omitted). For further information, call Gerstan Heah Leah at (phone).

Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
