From The Page (November, 1984):
The Protectorate of Encinal is organizing a trip to the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. No, there are no special exhibits there now, but the permanent exhibit has many things of interest to SCAers; portraits show costumes, still lifes show period fruits, vegetables and random objects, silver plate shows heraldic designs, etc. There are also exhibits of weaponry, vases and old lace. Sinec we are going as a group, there i sno charge, but PLEASE RSVP the autocrat, Brandewynne Guilford, (phone). The museum needs an approximate headcount. The trip is scheduled for November 3, and it is in garb. Note: would anyone be interested in driving to a meeting point in the San Jose area, and taking a charter bus? I hear that parking is rather difficult in Golden Gate Park. Opinions solicited. Note #2: bring money. There's a wonderful bookstore on the premises.
