From The Page (November, 1983):
The WESTERMARK CHAMPION TOURNEY will take place Sunday, November 6. In addition to the Champion List, we will hold the following contests:
Grendall Lactooth Competition: most disgusting dish (if you wanted to, you could eat it). Extra points for using tree byproducts. Last year's winner, James the Fisher, will defend his well-deserved title.
Shakespeare recitation (hey, this is serious, guys).
Numenorean brick throwing competition.
Peerage Pentathlon: Dancing (brown nose pavane), Story Telling (battle taunts), Heraldry (best reason for name rejection), Courtesy (best insult you can't get called for), Courting (Best "Do you want to ?" line), Strategy (tic-tac-toe), Knowledge (What does "pentathlon" mean?), and of course, Chivalry (Rolling Plunder/Crimson Tomato drum relay).
The tourney will be held on the East Meadow at Huddart Park, Woodside. This place is lovely - we're talking quality site here! $1 site fee. Absolutely no dogs, no hard liquor (beer & wine OK). Setup from 8am. Opening court will be at 10am. Park closes at 5pm. Call the autocrat Deirdre de Gildelyn (phone), or the seneschal Valeron Windweaver (phone) for more information.
