From The Page (December, 1983):
Once again it is time to get out your bells and put on your Yuletide finery! The annual SOUTHERN SHORES Christmas Revel will be held on Saturday, December 3, at the Saratoga Fire Hall, (address omitted). There will be a coordinated potluck, and we have room for up to 75 people in the hall, so PLEASE call Anne of Ockham (phone) for reservations. For menu suggestions or recipes, call either Helyn Brownberry at (phone); Catherine Kendal of Stillwater at (phone); or Eric Edmundsson at (phone).
Please be sure to call for reservations, because we need to know how many people we will have. No drinks will be provided -- bring your own!
There will be all the usual Southern Shores excitement and fun. Contests will include:
-- A bell hunt.
-- Bell accessories: creativity and SUBTLE bawdiness are encouraged.
-- An on-site sciences competition (to be announced at the event).
A gift exchange will also be held. Anyone wishing to participate should bring a wrapped gift (SCA or period theme if at all possible, and no more than $5.00). Singing, dancing, and general revelry will be the order of the evening.
(directions omitted). Doors open at 5pm; and the potluck will begin at 6.
