The Eighteenth Year

Collegium Nebularum
October 15-16, 1983 (AS XVIII)

From The Page (October, 1983):

The third session of the COLLEGIUM NEBULARUM of the Principality of the Mists will be hosted by the College of St. Katherine, and will be held in Wheeler Hall on the UC Berkeley campus on October 15 and 16. We have assembled a phenomenal curriculum of 40 courses, taught by the best instructors we could find. In fact, we are importing several instructors for this session from our sister Principality of Cynagua.

These instructors include Their Majesties Rolf and Lachlin, Duchess Carol of Bellatrix, Viscount Alfric Favnesbane, Viscountess Sharra ni Perran, and the Earl Marshall. We would like to extend a special invitation to Cynaguans, to the dwellers in the Western Marches, and to visitors from other Kingdom to attend what we feel will be a very special event.

Any who need a place to stay should contact the Autocrat.

After much soul-searching, we have decided that NOBODY likes Freshman Orientation, so we have eliminated the Newcomers Track and scattered basic courses throughout the two days of the session. The courses we feel are basic are marked *. This will encourage some old-timers to pick up a basic skill they may have missed, and will not set our newer members apart.

Similarly, the War College classes are scattered to allow fighters and war buffs some flexibility, and the chance to stand up and stretch. Those classes are marked with a 2.

Registration opens at 8:30 am, and classes will begin at 9. On-campus parking is available for a fee, and is cheaper than most of the parking garages in the area. There is a home Football Game on Saturday - oh well! - so plan to arrive early and/or carpool.

The registration fee is $2 and covers all classes. The revel will be at a site to be announced. There may be a small additional fee to cover the rental of a hall for the revel. The evening dollar Soup Kitchen will be available, circumstances permitting. Bring a bowl. We respect the ages-old tradition that True Scholars are Rich in Spirit and Poor in the Pocket.

The class descriptions and tentative schedule follow. (directions omitted). If you have questions that can't wait until then, contact the Autocrat, Maythen of Elfhaven, at (phone).
