This June Crown will be held at Bort Meadow (formerly called Big Trees) Camp Ground, in the Oakland Hills, on June 19 and 20. Setup will begin at 8:00 and opening court will start at 10:00. The lists will begin at 11:00 and will be fought in the standard form; double elimination, double kills refought and all kills received prior to the finals to be disregarded.
The Minister of Arts will be sponsoring the following competitions:
--- Fine Arts Division: Music composition--must be turned in and will be returned at Purgatorio.
--- Open: Any fine art that does not fit into any other category.
--- Performing Arts Division: Dancing--a suite of Bransles and a pavan (music provided) plus a dance of your choice.
--- Jesting: Amuse the Royalty.
--- Technical Arts Division: Fine needlework.
The Mistress of Sciences will have a number of exhibits on display and bids the populace to come and see what the College has to offer.
Wooden Spoon will be sponsoring a contest for the best chocholate anything (by request for those who scream that it isn't period).
The Royal Society of Western Citizens for the Preservation of Shastan Fighting Techniques is alive and well. At June Crown we will be holding a very unusual drinking contest. Non-alcoholic and with surprise rules.
Since it is within our charter to also record fables "Shastan" experiences, if you were there and wish to tell of the happening (ex: The Shastan forte at Pennsic, fighting hornets instead of other fighters) please write or farspeak with Kyna of Wolfhaven (contact info omitted).
Shastan stories, cartoons and jokes will be combined into a volume for sale.
