From The Page (December, 1981):
The Twelfth Night Coronation Festival and Revel will be held in the Showcase Theatre and Exhibition Hall at the Marin Center from Noon to Midnight, Saturday, January 9, 1982. Tickets may be purchased in advance from Tamsin of the Raven Tresses (contact info omitted). The suggested donation is $7.00 per person when the money is received before December 31, 1981; and $8.00 per person thereafter and at the door. West Kingdom Royalty will be sent tickets "gratis"; Royalty from other Kingdoms will be welcomed as guests - they should write directly to Tamsin for their tickets.
Entertainers are needed for the dinner hours and throughout the evening. Interested persons should contact Helyn Brownberry (contact info omitted); she has been granted authority to offer free admission in return for your services.
Hall decorations are being solicited by Narissa of Hart's Wood (phone). She will welcome your ideas, suggestions and assitance. The Autocrat is Richard of Seahaven (contact info omitted). If you wish to schedule activities at Twelfth Night you must contact Richard.
The site is at the same location as last year, with the addition of the Showcase Theatre for Courts and entertainment. The Exhibition Hall is quite spacious (capacity: 800+). Half of the Hall will be set with tables and chairs for dining; the other half will be reserved for the display of the Arts and Sciences; for the gambling den (see details from Verena and the Land Fund below); and for dancing and revelry. The Theatre seats 350; there is difficult passage for ladies in hoops - there is spacious standing room at the back and to the sides, however.
Smoking is not allowed inside the Hall nor in the Theatre; Constables will be present to enforce this rule. Children are welcome (and must have a ticket of entry), provided their parents take responsibility for their behavior. There will be two rooms set aside for the children - one for active play and the other for quiet rest and sleeping. There will be rooms set aside for changing into and out of costumes; and Gold Key will have costumes available; please bring your own hangers.
Food and drink will not be provided. There is a kitchen area where warming of food and limited storage are possible, but do not expect to do any extensive cooking or food preparations at the site. There are a number of good restaurants within 5-15 minutes driving time, most of which are of the laid-back Marin County types that they probably won't even notice your medieval garb. Write or phone David of Staffa for a list. David also has a list of local motels for those wishing overnight accomodations.
The Hall will be available for setup beginning at 9 am. The Theatre will not be available until 2 pm. Both must be cleared and cleaned by Midnight. First Court will take place at 3 pm. Contact David of Staffa to offer assistance in the setup and cleaning operations.
The Marin Center is located just north of San Rafael, in Marin County. (Directions omitted)
If you have questions about Twelfth Night, call or write David of Staffa (contact info omitted).
