From The Page (February, 1982):
The Barony of Tarnmist cordially invites all peoples residing on the borders of the Barony and beyond to join us as we partkae of our Second Annual Mid-Winter Feast.
The event will begin in the afternoon of Saturday, 23 January, A.S. XVI with an open eric available for informal challenges, practice melees, or for the sharing of newly acquired fighting techniques (giving one and all the opportunity to show off the skills that we have been honing to a fine edge during the winter). The eric will be available at 2:00 in the afternoon, with space available for pavillion setup. A dance floor, gaming tables, and other activities will be available at this time to enable us to entertain ourselves as the victuals are being prepared.
The feast will be starting at 6:00 in the evening. We are also soliciting entertainers. Anyone willing to share their talents with us should please contact our entertainment steward, Lady Karolyn Johnston of Lindley at (phone).
The Barony will also be sponsoring a chair covering contest (covering a 20th century folding chair in such a way as to disguise it as a medieval chair), and a table setting contest (for the most aesthetically pleasing middle ages festing table).
The event will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building (address omitted), San Luis Obispo, California. Maps will be provided with the tickets. Motel lists will be made available upon request.
Feast tickets will be $7.50 U.S. or 15 Tarnmistian Pittance if purchased prior to January 18, and $10.00 U.S. (20 T.P.) thereafter. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door.
