From The Page (February, 1982):
Due to the fact that the proposed site for
Marsh March Crown is under water,
the powers that be have been trying to find either another site, or procure the water wing
concesssion. As it is uncertain said wings would hold a fully armed fighter, a new tentative
site has been selected. March Crown will (probably) be at Kennedy Park, on HW29 between
Napa and Vallejo. This would be a one day event, as there are no provisions for overnighting
there. There are said to be shelters where those not fighting can watch those that are,
and yet remain dry. The site originally set for March Crown will most likely be used
for Beltane, assuming that it dries out. As these things are not yet official, contact
Geoffrey of Griffenhold for further information, or wait until the March PAGE for all the latest
From The Page (March, 1982):
Due to a rather strange set of circumstances, March Crown will be a one day event. It will be held at Kennedy park in Napa, on March 20. At this is not a reserved site, be early. The gates open at 8 A.M., and the first court will be at 9:30. For directions see the info for Mists Spring Coronet. Its the same place, just one week early.
Vinhold will be hosting a revel after crown at the Napa Youth Center. Maps will be available at crown to point out restaurants, motels, and other local landmarks. Crash space is available at private manors or the youth center.
Her Majesty the Queen invites the populace to join her at tea. As this is only a one day event, this will be during the lists, time to be announced at first court.
There will be an art auction, conducted by the minister of arts. See elsewhere in this issue of the PAGE for more details.
The Order of the Silver Mantle will also be having an armor competition. The theme is "Period Armor for SCA use". Entries should be of the same time period from head to toe, with all mundane safety equipment covered appropriately. All entries must be able to pass inspection by the Earl Marshal, although entry into the lists is not required.
