From The Page (July, 1981):
Announcements involving the An Tir July Coronation at Shittimwoode
Instruction in CPR: Everyone should know CPR (Cardiopulmonary Reuscitation)! A class
is offered to all caring inhabitants of the Knowne World from 2-6 pm on Friday, July 10
at the site of the July An Tir Coronation. Please make your intention to attend this class
known before June 15 - we'll cancel if fewer than eight sign up. Contact: Amanta Maita Inca
(contact info omitted).
Contests: A favor (sewn recently and never given nor worn) sponsored by Warp and Woof Guild; a scroll (proving the pen is indeed, mightier than the sword) to be judged for beauty and originality, weighted by effort. Submit entries before noon Saturday, July 11 to Guild of the Blackfinger or send (with SASE) to Hugh de Ruthven (contact info omitted). The prize will be a sheet of true vellum.
There will be a New World Potlatch of salmon, potatoes, sweet corn, and wilde-food salad on Saturday evening for $3 (U.S.) before May 31, $4 before June 30, and $5 at the door (a very limited number will be available at the door). Please send a check or money order with a SASE to Aislinn O'Riagin, Shittimwoode Culinary Guild, House of Amber (contact info omitted). In the tradition of the potlatch, we will also expect stories, tall tales, outrageous gifts, and much status-bumping. Prizes will be given for innovation. Volunteers are welcome to assist - we'll feed you, but please write ahead.
THe Costumer's Guild will sponsor an armor contest based on armor that looks good (without necessarily being of authentic construction). Overall appearance is important. All pieces must be within a fifty year span of time, and must be SCA legal. One major assembly (i.e., a helmet or leg harnesses) may have been made by another person - everything else must have been made by the entrant(s).
