The Fifteenth Year

West/Caid Tourney -- Tarnmist
April 25-26, 1981 (AS XV)

From The Page (March, 1981):

A Grand Tourney will be jointly held by the Kingdoms of the West and Caid at Rancho El Charo Park in the Barony of Tarnmist (San Luis Obispo, CA) on April 25 & 26.

These joint war maneuvers will allow the respective monarchs to employ their forces in scenarios including field battles, war archery, individual combats, and challenges. It will test the group tactics of local groups of fighters in many interesting ways.

The Barony of Tarnmist will have an "Inn" at the site. The site has flush privys and running water (and pray that their funding comes through) possibly hot showers!

Autocrat for this event is Karolyn Johnston of Lindley who can be reached at (phone) for additional information.

From The Page (April, 1981):

War maneuvers will be held jointly betwixt the Kingdoms of the West and Caid in the Barony of Tarnmist the weekend of April 25-26. These war maneuvers will allow the Monarchs of both Kingdoms to employ their forice sin a number of scenarios.

The teams, commanded by Frederick and Armand, will be made up of both Western and Caidan forces, chosen by the commanders in such a way as to make them approximately equal in numbers and strength. The teams will remain constant throughout the weekend to allow the commanders greater flexibility in learning their respective strengths and weaknesses.

Groups which normally fight together, households, Shires, Baronies, etc., will be included in teams as units. Those persons who do not belong to such a group will be chosen as individuals. There will be signup sheets at the War site where group commanders will sign up their groups (giving the number of persons in their group and the name of the group), and signup sheets for individuals. It will be the responsibility of group commanders to know exactly how many of their people will be showing up. If you are a member of a group you should not sign up as an individual or you may end up separated from your group.

(more details on teams, battles, and site details omitted).
