From The Page (February, 1981):
It is one of the duties of the Chivalry to provide training for the unbelted fighters. Unfortunately, many unbelted fighters do not routinely have opportunities for training. Therefore, the Chivalry has decided to sponsor a tournament for the unbelted fighters. It is our hope that this will provide an opportunity for unbelted fighters to receive advice from a wide variety of view-points. We invite all of the unbelted fighters in the Kingdom to join us.
In addition to a List for the unbelted fighters, there will be diverse fighting events involving both belted and unbelted fighters.
Activities planned are in several facets of medieval culture, not just fighting. We expect that there will be instruction available in dancing, chess, heraldry, etc. --- in short, those activities which are expected of members (or potential members) of the peerage.
Schedule: Since the site is non-reservable, we expect to begin set-up early enough to insure that we have it: 9 a.m. Instruction, discussion, etc. will begin about 10:00 a.m., or as soon as we are ready. Activities are expected to continue into the late afternoon.
Directions: The tournament will be held in the soccer field in Tilden Park in Berkeley, CA. (Directions omitted)
Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
