From The Page (September, 1980):
The fourth Ducal Prize Tournament will be held on 27 and 28 September at the home of Lord William and Lady Elaine of Gad in Golden Rivers. During these two days many competitions will be held for which entry fees will be charged. There will also be an auction. All money raised will go to the Land Fund of the Kingdom of the West.
There will also be an 'auction' of possible entrants in the competitions for those wishing to sponsor someone else. The winning bidder will receive the prize if his entrant wins. More competitions will be announced at the event, including ones in fighting and war and target archery. Bring your armour and your archery equipment, including crossbows.
If you would like to sponsor a competition, bring the prize for it to the tourney and be prepared to run the event yourself. Also, if you wish to donate something for the auction, bring it with you or give it to Duke James or Duchess Verena before the event. All sponsors reserve the right to cancel their competitions if there aren't enough entrants.
