The investiture of Lord Alfric Favnesbane and Lady Gwendwyn the Silent will take place on Saturday, January 31 at the Rescue Community Center in Rescue, CA.
The doors open at 1 p.m. for set up. The last court of Prince Rolf and Princess Yolanda will begin at 3 p.m. with the investiture following. A potluck repast will follow. Please bring a dish which will feed 10 people. The revel will begin at 8 p.m. and last until midnight. Anyone staying after midnight will be part of the clean-up committte. A donation of $1 per person will be collected to help pay for the hall. If the pass is snowed in or looks risky for late-leavers, there will be sleeping space available with people in Sacramento. There is tent space at Shingle Springs if the weather is clement.
The Arts competitions will include: 1.) Anything Beaded or Jeweled - extra points will be rewarded for handmade jewels or beads; 2.) Medieval Foot Coverings - tell how they were made and where the materials originate; 3.) Bardic Bluster - heroic deed, fictional or factual: a. poetry, b. sing it, c. story-telling; 4.) I've Never Done This Before - something learned in the last year; 5.) Art Show - people should call Mistress Sharra ni Perran (contact info omitted) to reserve space and obtain additional information.
