From The Page (January, 1980):
This event will take place near Sierraville, and will require the use of skis, snowshoes, or what have you. The nature of this event is somewhat of a "Quest on Skis", as it involves some cross-country skiing to get into the site. The way is not steep, but takes a while and will occupy much of Saturday afternoon. Participants will be put up for the night in Reno on Friday, and will leave for the site saturday morning, stopping in Truckee to pick up any others. There will be a revel at the lodge after the day's activities. The cost will be $15, which covers four meals and the transportation of equipment to the site. Even if there isn't sufficient response for a full-fledged carnival, there will still be people going up, but we need your reservations to make the carnival possible. So come along and give it a try! For more information, send a SASE to: Gabrielle de Navarre (contact info omitted).
