From The Page (November, 1979):
The province of Southern Shores will hold a tourney on Saturday, 17 November. The winner of the lists will be declared the Protector of Southern Shores, with teh rights and responsibilities that go with teh title. The lists will begin at 10:30, but we will need people to show up as soon as possible after 8 am to hold the field, as the site is not reserved. A cookbook will be the prize for the best gingerbread (as judged by our exclusive panel of judges). We will have many games and jollities, including tug-of-war, and hope everyone will come and enjoy the day.
The site is the Villa Maria picnic area in Stevens Creek County Park in Monte Vista. (Directions omitted).
