Mists Spring Coronet Tournament
April 26, 1980 (AS XIV)

The Principality of the Mists will hold its Spring Coronet Tourney on Saturday, 26 April, on the grounds of the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo. Set-up will begin at 8 am, court will open at 10:30 am, and Prince William will administer the Sword Oath to all contestants promptly at noon.

To engage and delight the populace, Their Highesses will hold a Bower of Courtesy to which members of the Principality, especially fighters and their ladies or lords, are invited. A lightly alcholic punch as well as non-alcoholic refreshment will be served. Those in attendance will take part in a medieval-style debate of the question: Do heralds go to Heaven?

Additionally there will be a tug-of-war for ladies only, a relay race, music played throughout the afternoon with dancing on the lawn, and a maypole.

Lady Rowena d'Anjou is sponsoring a design competition for a Principality Royal Pavillion. Criteria are: beauty, simplicity of construction and asembly, economy of materials, and durability. The prize is a bottle of Illmitzer Trokenbeerenauslese vintage 1976. (Sponsor's note: if not enough designs are submitted to hold a true competition, it will be held over until the Fall Coronet Tourney.)

There will be a pot-luck revel afterward at Lady Rowena's home.

Directions: (omitted).
