From The Page (June, 1979):
The June Crown Tournament will be held at Big Trees (at least that's the latest information we have. If the road is still washed out, presumably Appropriate Arrangements have or will be made). See Announcements for the Order of the Wooden Spoon competition category.
The Performing Arts division of the Arts Championship will be judged at June Crown: Musical performance (solo or group, but judging will be on an individual basis), dancing (a suit of bransles and a pavanne - our music -- plus a dance of your choice -- your music), jesting (amuse the King), singing (entries should be under three minutes), dramatic performance (including oral interpretation as well as drama), and Open (gurning, juggling, prestidigitation, mime ...). The technical division will also be judged at June Crown: brewing (beer) and cooking (anything with vegetables -- include recipe if vegetables aren't obvious to an unsophisticated palate). Entries should reflect the SCA's dedication to pre-1650 life. Open categories are open -- suggestions are for inspirational purposes only. Entrants in performing arts categories must be in costume. If your entry has interesting points which may not be readily apparent, let the judges know.
Description of this event (if any), taken from The Page, or from memory of at least one person who attended the event.
