Penny's Bawdy Birthday Revel and Prize Tourney
March 14-16, 1980 (AS XIV)

On March 14, starting at 7:30 pm, a revel will be held at THE JOLLY OX RESTAURANT. Prices for dinner range from $8.45 for Poacher's Pleasure (two boneless breasts of chiken served with rice pilaf topped with pineapple) to $13.95 for lobster tails. All entrees include hot bread and salad bar. RSVP as reservations will need to be made. Deadline for reservations is February 22, and the banquet hall will only hold 50 people. Please come in costumes, as this is roughly a medieval establishment. THE JOLLY OX RESTAURANT is at (address and directions omitted). On March 15, set-up will be at 12:00 noon. There will be a small fee to help offset the hall rental. Lists will start at 1:30 pm, and the pot-luck at 7:30 pm. Please bring enough to feed ten. Tourney site to be annoucned later. On March 16, doors open at 12:00 noon, final rounds of the lists begin at 1:00 pm. Please wear warm clothing that will not be ruined if soiled. The events planned are as follows: most appropriate risque costume male and female (Risque: Suggestive of, or bordering on indelicacy or impropriety), best Birthday kiss, pillow melee (bring your own, and NO CARROTS), best story of how my Birthday Night was spent (HOPEFULLY FICTION), mens strutting contest (both clothed and topless), wrestling (Westmoreland rules), body looting of a wench, body looting of a soldier, best legs contest (male and female, dark blue or black tights), best song (for general populace participation), pin the codpiece on the ----, best rendering of a copper coin, and archery (bows and arrows will be provided). ANYONE WHO IS NOT 18 YEARS OF AGE MUST HAVE AN SCA WAIVER SIGNED BY THEIR PARENTS OR GUARDIAN TO ENABLE THEM TO TAKE PART IN MOST OF THE EVENTS.
