AN TIR CORONETTING TOURNAMENT in Madrone on September 9 & 10 at Snoqualmie River Campbround will begin setting up as early as possible on Saturday (or those who wish, may set up Friday night).
Final Court of Their Highnesses, Steingrim and Janeltis will begin at noon, and will be followed by a break for contests, Council of Seneschals, games, etc. At 3 pm, the Grand March and Coronation of Ulfred and Valkyrie and their First Court will take place, followed by the Sublety contest, lawn games and miscellaneous activities. At 6 pm, a potluck dinner (bring a dish to feed 10) and after dinner a bardic contest and general revelry.
Sunday at 10 am will be the Athole Brose contest & rundraiser. The honor and pleasure of judging this contest will be auctioned to the three highest bidders, with monies to go to the Principality. At 11 am will be the Archery contest and Royal Rounds, and at 12 the pandybat lists will comments. Later will be the Tabard contest (embroidery or applique).
Contests will include: Penannular Brooch; Love Token (can be a favor, embroidered handkerchief, a piece of jewelry, etc. Two categories, for those under and those over 18); Subtlety (entrants are encouraged to use the coronetting as the theme. Entries should be edible and will be used as dessert at the potluck); Children's Portrait Contest (subject: the new Prince and Princess) and Bardic contest (soliloquy on the qualities of nobility. Original or from literature -- judged on performance and appropriateness of material).
