I’ve re-stitched seams time after time
I’ve written poems in sestinal rhymes
And bad mistakes, I’ve made a few…
I’ve scores of books checked out on my card
And they’re overdue!

          And I research on and on and on and on and
          We are the Laurels my friends
          And we’ll keep on crafting to the end.

          No taking shortcuts for we are the Laurels of the West.

I’ve taught A&S, competed at Crown,
I’ve researched dance and music (and the clothes that go with it)
I’ve taught them all….
But, there’s so few sources for period booze—
I consider it a challenge, one that I must face,
And I never lose!
