Thank God I’m A Western Knight

Lyrics by Caius Auklandus, Garth of Windhaven, and Tatiana Nikolaevna Tumanova

(To the Tune of: Thank God I’m A Country Boy by John Denver)

Well, my fights on the field are kinda laid back
Ain’t no one that a fighter like me can’t hack
With a good defense and a swift attack
Thank God I’m a Western knight
Well, a simple style of fightin’ never did me no harm
A’hackin’ off a leg and maybe takin’ off an arm
When they see me coming they know they’ve bought the farm
Thank God I’m a Western knight
Well, they made me a knight but it’s still quite a riddle
Why they gave me a chain and the belt around my middle
But they taught how to count and how to cheat just a little
Thank God I’m a Western knight
I’d fight in the Lists all day if I could
But the King and the marshals wouldn’t take it very good
So I fight when I can and die when I should
Thank God I’m a Western knight
Well, the fightin’ keeps a’going ‘til the sun’s hangin’ low
The field’s getting’ empty ‘cause I’ve vanquished every foe
When the marshal’s ain’t lookin’ I try to hit ‘em low
Thank God I’m a Western knight
Well, they made me a knight but it’s still quite a riddle
Why they gave me a chain and the belt around my middle
But they taught how to count and how to cheat just a little
Thank God I’m a Western knight
