A Soldier of the Rus

"A close-up of the Russian foot soldier on the completed scroll, after I did a bit more work on his helmet and some touch-up work on the shield. For some reason the paint wanted to chip and spall off the aluminum more so than the gold. Despite protecting the surface with paper, just the slight abrasion knocked paint off the figures. I cut a chunk out of some clear vinyl I had lying around for making stencils and used that to cover the scroll for transport rather than paper, as it was smooth." -- Tatiana Nikolaevna Tumanova
