Kathrine of Bristol's Viscountess scroll,

"Katherine picked the mantling out of the large Fox-Davies
edition of The Art of Heraldry, and requested a cat or cats.
The style of the mantling did not permit the use of supporters,
so I worked a cat (kitten) into the illumination. I always
thought that Celtic interlace looked like snarls, so I used the
notion of a ball of red yarn getting unraveled all over the place
by the kitten. Katherine's badge was used to anchor the mantling
