Completed Scroll and My Foot
Another shot of the completed scroll with my foot at the bottom --to take the pictures, I would stand over the piece looking straight down at it, one foot up on the table and the other foot on a chair.

All done! This one took about a third of the time that my last scroll took (Lorenzo's Pelican) as the text didn't have to be painted over three times on the scroll proper, there was not much gold/silver leaf on it, and no filigree border! All told, it took not quite 50 hours from start to finish.

Now it's on to Aricia Jehane Deveraux's Laurel, which has also been waiting for 12 years. I'm thinking of doing another "black scroll" -- maybe something based off the Master of Anthony of Burgundy's Black Hours ... -- Tatiana Nikolaevna Tumanova
