"Watercolor paper with Higgins Black Magic and gouache. This is a photo of a copy, so the color is off (the paper is actually a warm tan) and the bowls of the letters are painted in. The design is from a penannualar brooch from the Sutton Hoo find. I later went back and put red hatching in the dogs' bodies, and was much happier with the more finished look. The royal seal sat between the bottom designs, with the heralds' seal right above it." -- Eliška z Jihlavy
