"This assignment was a little challenging, because Ellisif had specifically requested that I do something to match Reinar's AoA, which I had done when much less experienced. The toughest part was the paper, as I had unwisely used watercolor paper left over from another project for Reinar's scroll - it was incredibly toothy and hard to calligraph, but it was what I had on hand at the time. So I forced myself to use it again... the illumination is the same format as Reinar's, which I had lifted from a Sutton Hoo penannular brooch, but I replaced the dogs with a Tree of Life from the Book of Kells - I felt this was especially appropriate, as on the weekend I started designing the scroll, Her Excellency announced to the household that she was expecting..." -- Eliška z Jihlavy
