Love Poem Manuscript52 viewsSome of you will recognize the poem. With minor changes, the poem was drawn from King's Quest 6: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow. I have always loved the poem, and decided it was quite appropriate for illumination. Made as a gift for my lady while she was in the hospital.Alan_Tynneker

Oops... I guess it was practice69 viewsThe scribal database wasn't working properly for several months, and in the interim I sent a request for a scroll assignment. Figuring that the Chancellor would get back to me eventually, I went ahead with the design. It ended up that the recipient got someone to do the scroll on short notice, outside the 'usual channels' while the system was down. I guess it was practice! Based heavily on Lindisfarne Gospels.

I still can't figure out how they did some of the detail work they did, even with modern tools it isn't trivial to reproduce such detail.

Practice Scroll Layout57 viewsThis is a tiny 5x7 design I made when I was just starting out. Mistress Danae wanted me to do something to get my Warrant as a scribe, when she saw this she shortly called the Chancellor to convince her I was ready for just about anything.Alan_Tynneker

Small Pieces Practice52 viewsThese pieces are copied, actual size as best I could tell, from Kells, Lindisfarne, and a random manuscript I can't seem to find now. Mistress Danae still thinks I work "really tiny".Alan_Tynneker
