History: The Kingdom of Caid was once a Principality of the West Kingdom. It split off to its own Kingdom June 3, 1978 (A.S. XIII).

Dates and information above from the History of the West Kingdom -- details by Wilhelm von Schlüssel can be found here: Principality of Caid.

From The Page (June, 1974):

At the recent Tourney of Union [April 20-21, 1974], the citizens of the Principality decided pro tempore on the name Caid, a name devised by Master Boncueur, which not only is an acronym of the baronies that make up the Principality, but in Arabic signifies "The Fortress." Official adoption of the name awaits the approval of the Lord Laurel and then of the Board, but we may as well use it in the meantime.

See the Roll of Arms for the Princes and Princesses of Caid.
