Three viking ships came sailing in

I saw the Swedes and Danes get out,

And on the beach they raised a shout on Christmas day in the morning.

The soldiers tried to slow them down
          On Christmas day, on Christmas day
The Swedes and Danes they mowed them down on Christmas day in the morning

They took our cows and stole our sheep
          On Christmas day, on Christmas day
The men all cursed the women weeped on Christmas day in the morning

I didn’t think it could get worse
          On Christmas day, on Christmas day
They burned the village and sacked the church on Christmas day in the morning

Three Viking ships then sailed away
          On Christmas day, on Christmas day
But swore that they’d be back again on Christmas day in the morning.
