Dances the Noble Unicorn
Round the never ending circle
With wisdom, wit, and will he leads
From beginning to beginning

Power brought to his honored land
Bane to all who would dare his wrath
Valkyries sing to all his praise
Filling Valhalla with his skill
Forth the clash of the valkyrie
Odin waits to do him honor

Dances the noble Unicorn
Round the never ending circle
With wisdom, wit, and will he leads
From beginning to beginning

All welcome to his heat giver
Offered to all the auroch’s spear
Drinking deep the mead of Odin
Bringing to all the giant’s drink
No oath holder as honored proud
Has sat the seat of Western Pride

Dances the noble Unicorn
Round the never ending circle
With wisdom, wit, and will he leads
From beginning to beginning

Breaker of rings to those in need
Guide with no thought of himself
Proud keeper of the dream of old
Able as no other can be
At the end as he was at first
A circle all unto himself

Dances the noble Unicorn
Round the never ending circle
With wisdom, wit, and will he leads
From beginning to beginning

I wrote this poem to honor Duke Frederick of Holland for the occasion of his becoming a member of the Order of the Laurel. This does have a stef though it is very short for a drapa. And still uses the 8 syllable count without the alliterative riming. -- Torvald
