On Inspiration - Seeking the Crown

To the tune of 'What Then is Love',
from Thomas Ford's 'Music of Sundry Kinds', 1607
October, 2008 (A.S. XLIII)

Would you then reign this Western land
From Misty hill to Swan graced keep
Bearing the heart of Northern Wolf
To the Far West across oceans deep
Fight for your lady, honor your foe
Unto all present your chivalry show
Their Undoubted Prince the West will soon know
Raise your banners high and on chivalry, honor, strength now rely
Set your inspiration on high.

Would you then seek the Western Crown
The oak leaves of silver wrought fine
Fight for your inspiration fair
And set her above all to shine
Fairest of kingdoms, land of the West
Home of the bravest and the best
Let all men now stand forth to the test
Raise your banners high and on chivalry, honor strength now rely
Set your inspiration on high.
